Hilltown Commons Creative Residency Program
Creative Residency at Hilltown Commons
The Creative Residency at Hilltown Commons invites artists and makers across disciplines to immerse themselves in their work while connecting with nature, place, and community. Located on our 100-acre campus in Rensselaerville, NY, the residency offers a peaceful, supportive environment for focused creative exploration aligned with Hilltown’s mission: to empower growth at the intersection of learning, community, and the natural world.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Hilltown Commons provides residents with housing, access to a private studio, shared kitchen and laundry facilities, and the inspiring landscape. In return, residents are asked to contribute to the life of the community by leading a workshop, helping to develop a public program, and offering a tangible or experiential piece of their work—such as a painting, filmed performance, community installation, or concert recording—that reflects their time in residence.
Each residency cycle hosts up to four residents. The current cycle runs from July 10 to September 2, 2025.
While we do not provide a stipend, we offer time, space, and resources for deep creative engagement in a setting rooted in care, curiosity, and connection.
